We, the founders, crossed paths at a happy hour for the Washington Association of Professional Anthropologists (WAPA), which only several "early career" students and practitioners had attended. We found a real common ground in that we are facing similar career-shaping decisions in an environment that seems quite different from what our professors and senior mentors faced.
